Choi Kwang Do Established in Korea

On the 1st of October 2007, Grandmaster Kwang Jo Choi  boarded a plane headed to South Korea.  It was with happiness and trepidation that Grandmaster Choi was returning to
Dae Gu City, his birth place; where he was met by Master Jung Sae Kim, 6th degree
black belt. 

Grandmaster Choi  conducted CKD seminars for senior  Tae Kwon Do instructors and school owners.  These seminars were conducted for 6 hours on the 6th of October followed by instructor training daily over a period of 2 weeks.  Over 70 master instructors and school owners took part in these official training's.  Master Kim who attended the 20th anniversary seminar in Atlanta, Georgia , commented that he could not believe that “ Grandmaster Choi  could perform with such strength, speed, and agility at the age of 65”.  He also commented that he was very proud to be a Korean, as one of his own has created a superior martial art for the 21st century.  Choi Kwang Do schools have been established in Dae Gu City.  Master Kim and his instructors are busy training and ready to establish Choi Kwang Do in Korea.

Because of his reputation as a premier martial artist, Grandmaster Choi was officially invited to lecture and demonstrate Choi Kwang Do to Tae Kwon Do graduate students/instructors of Keimyung University. For 2 hours Grandmaster Choi demonstrated and explained the CKD techniques to an eager audience of over 60 TKD Instructors.  Professors Sun Jang Lee and  Bae Yung Sang of the TKD department was also present and was responsible for inviting Grandmaster Choi.  On the 13th of October Grandmaster Choi conducted a 4 hour seminar at Suji Martial Art Institute (suburb of Seoul). Sahjonim was assisted by Grandmaster Don Woo who traveled from Atlanta, GA. The Suji Martial Art Institute is headed by Master In Hyun Kyung, TKD 6th degree black belt,Hapikido 5th degree,Tukong Musool 6th degree, and Master instructor of Yong Mudo, who also attended with the Korean delegation to Atlanta for the 20th Anniversary celebrations.  Over 70 School owners and instructors took part in this seminar. Following this seminar was also a week full of training for instructors conducted by Grandmaster Don Woo. Master Kyung will be traveling back to Atlanta, Georgia for intensive training with Grandmaster Choi January 2008.
