Classes
Choi Kwang-Do is designed to enhance students’ overall health, fitness and well-being. Choi Kwang-Do has students of all ages and abilities. Our youngest student is 3 and our oldest student is over 80 years old! We find adults of all ages and abilities regardless of physical condition. Choi Kwang-Do combines all of the positive aspects of traditional martial arts - such as character development and positive mental attitude with a training system that delivers results.

All classes will focus on the following:
The Basics of Choi Kwang-Do
Bowing, stances, blocking, posture, eye and hand position, power, body movement and correct breathing. All CKD techniques use sequential movement, which means that energy transfers naturally from one body segment to the next.
Warm-up, Cool Down and Stretching Exercises
You will learn how to properly warm your body up to begin your training in Choi Kwang Do and prevent injury while training. Our classes will also focus on cool down and stretching exercises to help gain flexibility and increase blood circulation throughout your entire body. Proper cool down and stretching also helps to prevent muscle soreness.
Choi Kwang-Do Patterns
Patterns use combinations of biomechanical techniques in enjoyable sequence. They are practiced for self-defense with an imaginary opponent. Every technique in a pattern is practical and has the same movement pattern as when we hit an actual target.
Self Defense
Practice close range defenses with partner in a safe environment learning to work with your partner in a non competitive environment.
Terminology
Learn the meaning of the principles of Choi Kwang-Do; humility, honesty, gentleness, perseverance, self-control, unbreakable spirit and how to apply them to your own life.
